Raspberry Dark Chocolate Frozen Yogurt
Updated March 05, 2020
Frozen yogurt is one of my favorite treats. I’ve always preferred soft serve fro yo over ice cream. Even before it became trendy and frozen yogurt shops were on every block. I guess I started the trend:)
When we go to a frozen yogurt shop, I am always overwhelmed by all of the flavors and toppings. There are too many choices and since I am the worst at making decisions, it kind of stresses me out. I decided to make my own frozen yogurt at home. I went with Raspberry Dark Chocolate Frozen Yogurt because you can’t go wrong with raspberry and chocolate. One of my all-time favorite flavor combos!
This recipe couldn’t be any simpler. It only has 5 ingredients-raspberries, Greek yogurt, vanilla, sugar, and dark chocolate. This is definitely a stress-free frozen yogurt! You do need an ice cream maker to make this recipe, but don’t worry, we have a fun giveaway for you today! Make sure you keep reading:)
I am loving Nestle Dark Chocolate Morsels! Have you tried them? I use them all of the time in my cookies and other baking adventures. They are also fantastic swirled into this raspberry frozen yogurt. I chopped up the dark chocolate morsels and added them when the frozen yogurt was almost done churning.
The frozen yogurt is slightly tart with a refreshing raspberry flavor. The dark chocolate pieces add the perfect amount of sweetness. I love the kick of dark chocolate in every bite!
Want a scoop? I know I do! I am going to keep a container of this Raspberry Dark Chocolate Frozen Yogurt in our freezer at all times. It is the perfect cool down treat for summer! And I love that I don’t have to leave my house to enjoy frozen yogurt. Don’t tell the yogurt shops, but I think my Raspberry Dark Chocolate Frozen Yogurt is way better! š
Raspberry Dark Chocolate Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cups raspberries fresh or frozen
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup choppedĀ dark chocolate
Instructions
- Place the Greek yogurt, raspberries, vanilla, and sugar in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Press the mixture through a strainer to remove the raspberry seeds.

This is such a gorgeous shade of pink! And I loooove the 2nd pic with the ice cream scoop!
I would love to make my own frozen yogurt at home!
YES! I love frozen yogurt too. Its wayyyy better than ice cream(IMO). Nestle’s products are awesome. I always have their chips on hand
we have made ice cream a couple of times, but didn’t at all last year. Will need to try this one this summer!
I didn’t realize it was so easy to make frozen yogurt. I will definitely be giving this recipe a try!
I have always wanted one of those ice cream makers. They look like they would be so much fun and trying different flavors on these hot days would be so refreshing!!!
Haven’t tried making frozen yogurt yet, but love making ice cream in our Cuisinart. Looking forward to trying this.
This looks delicious!
Does the ice cream stay soft? I tried making frozen yogurt with 0 fat greek yogurt and it turned out hard as a rock, once it sat in the freezer.
The frozen yogurt will harden up if you put it in the freezer. I just let it come to room temperature before scooping and it is fine. You can try a full fat yogurt for a creamier texture, but I like using 0% Chobani.
Looks so yummy! One of my favorite combinations too
I’d love an ice cream maker to try this delicious looking yogurt. Raspberry/chocolate is my favorite combo.

This ice cream looks delectable!! What a great giveaway! Thank you!
Yum! Keep the great recipes coming, please!
This looks amazing! Quick question on the straining of seeds: Will they disrupt the freezing if I leave them in there, or is this mostly just a texture-preference issue?
It’s a texture thing:) If you don’t mind the seeds you can leave them in.
Raspberry and chocolate go so well together. This frozen yogurt sounds perfect!

Looks delicious! To really guild the lily, scoop out a mango or papaya half (save the scooped out fruit for another recipe), then fill with the freshly made but still soft yogurt mixture. Smooth out the top, then freeze. The result will look like a tiny watermelon half!
Carmel Pecan ice cream.

I’ve been the same way with fro yo, I used to hunt down TCBYs since they were the only places with a good selection! Love the color of your raspberry yogurt!
Hi Maria – we did a tour of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory last month and their special giveaway flavor was raspberry with these dark chocolate chunks that were filled with a raspberry sauce in the middle. Oh my! So good! Raspberry and dark chocolate are a great combo!

Thank you so much for the contest. I am looking forward to trying your recipe and others. Thanks to Nestle as well.
I have made this yogurt 50 or more times and if you use fine sugar, it eliminates any chance of the yogurt having being little chunks of sugar.
Looks magnificent tastes extraordinary
great recipe! made it with cut up turtles YUM
chobani not the best choice though as a company….
http://blog.fooducate.com/2013/12/15/4-reasons-chobanis-100-calorie-yogurt-are-a-bad-choice/
I made this last night and it was so delicious! It is super creamy and I love that it’s only 5 ingredients! As always, thanks!!
Well shoot! That looks amazing! Raspberry is my favorite ice cream! But I don’t have an ice cream maker!
What would be the calorie count on this and amount of fat in this Thanks( ps. Looks delicious)
Can I use vanilla yogurt instead of Greek?
I haven’t tried it. Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt so it might not be as thick if you use regular vanilla yogurt.
Totally making this when friends come over as a nice thank you gift. Aside from being delicious sounding…. Where did you get that ice cream container?!
How would you recommend replacing the sugar with stevia powder in this recipe? Or would the texture and freezing properties be completely thrown off? I was thinking if it wouldn’t work to replace all of the sugar with stevia, I would just do 1/4 cup sugar and Ā or 2 packs of stevia
Currently making this but subbed dark chocolate chips for chopped up Lindt truffles and raspberry Ghiradelli squares. Super excited to see how it turns out!
We made this last night – a hit with everyone!
Love this recipe! I’ve made the original recipe and I’ve also adapted it wit different flavours! It’s a keeper!
Glad you like the recipe!
I made this fro yo last summer with berries from the back yard. My daughter has been begging me to make it again. Our fall raspberry crop is just starting so I will be making this frozen yogurt again. Raspberries and dark chocolate are best of friends. The full fat plain yogurt works well with 10+ minutes at room temp before scooping. This is delicious without shelling out the big bucks for a retail frozen treat.
Delicious! I used monkfruit sweetener to reduce the calories. Used 70% chocolate from Ghana. Thank you for the recipe.
Chocolates chips are too hard to eat and the recipe doesn’t work well in an ice cream makers
I love this recipe eventhough I’m too lazy to strainthe seeds. I used to make it in my ice cream maker but I love it even more in my Ninja Creami bc the seeds get pulverized. when using my Creami, I add mini chocolate chips on top or as a mix-in.
Oh nice! I am glad it works in the Creami!
