Holiday Cake Pops
Updated November 13, 2011
The one and only Bakerella came to Utah in October for a book signing at Williams Sonoma. I love Angie and her Cake Pops book, so of course I showed up with a two of my Utah blogging friends-Becky and Becky. Before the book signing, Angie answered questions and gave us tips on how to make the perfect cake pops. We were all ears and decided we needed to make cake pops together. Life got busy, but last weekend we made holiday cake pops.
We gathered in our new kitchen and got to work. We demolished a red velvet and chocolate cake. It was kind of sad watching the cakes get destroyed, but it was also fun:) We followed Angie’s step by step instructions and had no trouble forming our cake pops. I was a little worried about the decorating part, but luckily Becky and Becky were there to save the day. We made snowmen and Christmas tree ornaments.
After a few mess ups, we dominated the cake pops! I was impressed with our first time cake pop skills:) The snowmen and ornaments turned out super cute. We even made a few cake balls. Angie’s book is filled with so many fun cake pops. There are pops for every holiday and then some. I really want to try the ladybugs-they are adorable!
Holiday cake pops make a fun and unique gift to pass out to your neighbors, friends, and family members. Give them a try! Everyone will be impressed and they are quite tasty too:) For instructions on how to make cake pops, check out Bakerella’s Cake Pops book. Buy one for yourself and a friend-this book makes a great gift.
Getting our Cake Pops books signed! We just love Bakerella!

They’re adorable! I’m afraid I could eat an awful lot of those. That could be dangerous!

Super cute, I love the ornament idea! What did you use for the snowman hats? I can’t find the little cookies Angie uses in her book so I haven’t made them yet. She was in the Seattle area in October as well and I took my daughters to get our Cake Pops book signed!
We used mini Oreo cookies:) Look in the snack/cookie aisle.
beautiful. What did you use for the top part of the ornament? it looks real. is that part edible? really great job.
We bought real mini ornaments and used the tops. They are not edible:)
I just made cake pops the other day too. LOVE how festive yours are, great job!
I want some! they look to pretty to eat!! Love them!
I think you did a great job. They turned out completely adorable! I love the christmas lights! Cute ideas!
I have a question…are you willing to share the ideas/techniques you learned? I could use any help you could give. Mine are struggling! I am frustrated with the “un-smoothe-ness” of them!
Thanks!
Do you have the Cake Pops book? We followed the step by step instructions. I highly recommend using it!
I do have the book but my pops don’t come out very smooth. They are usually lumpy…I hate that! I actually made some last night. I used the food processor and the cake crumbling turned out better than rubbing them together. But it’s the candy coating that I have issues with? Can ya help me? I actually live in Utah…pretty cool aye?!
Only dip the pops once, then tap your wrist and slightly shake until the excess chocolate falls off. I didn’t have any trouble using that method!
Your cake pops turned out so well! I still haven’t made time to give them a shot yet but soon hopefully.
These are so cute Maria! Love them both, but the ornaments are my fave!
Oh my goodness…how lovely!

My favorite part of cake pops is crumbling the cake and mixing it up with the frosting. It feels like I’m a kid again, playing with my food! Decorating them takes serious patience and talent though. Yours look fantastic!
I bought this book for two of my friends! So cute! I love those ornaments!!
