Cucumber Canapés with Whipped Feta, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Basil
Updated August 13, 2019
Cucumber Canapés with Whipped Feta, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Basil-a simple appetizer that is perfect for any holiday party!
The holidays are here and that means it is party time! If you are hosting a holiday party or attending one and need to take a dish to share, we have the perfect recipe for you today-Cucumber Canapés with Whipped Feta, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Basil.
I love these Cucumber Canapés because they are easy to make and so festive! You can’t go wrong with green and red during the holidays!
To make the whipped feta, I used my KitchenAid Pro Line 16-Cup Food Processor. I added feta cheese, cream cheese, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. With the food processor running, I slowly added olive oil.
The end result? Creamy and dreamy whipped feta!
The KitchenAid Pro Line 16-Cup Food Processor also dices and slices. That’s right, you can use the food processor to slice the cucumbers too!
I topped each cucumber slice with whipped feta, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh basil. I like to use DeLallo’s Semi-Dried Cherry Tomatoes. They are SO good, better than candy, and they add the perfect pop of red!
Celebrate the holidays with Cucumber Canapés with Whipped Feta, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Basil. They are a great addition to any holiday menu. And if you aren’t planning on having a party, don’t worry, you can always have a party for one! I could snack on these Cucumber Canapés all day long!

- 1/3 cup olive oil
For the Cucumbers:
- 2 large cucumbers sliced
- Sun-dried tomatoes drained and chopped

Turn off the food processor.
- Place a dollop of whipped feta in the center of each cucumber slice. Top with sun-dried tomatoes and fresh basil. Serve.

I made these a few months ago for a function, and although they didn’t look nearly as pretty as the picture they went down alright. I am going for another try; what kind of feta should I use this time? Danish feta, or a soft wet kind, or a hard crumbly kind…?
Made these for my friends bridal shower. They were easy and very delicious!
Could I make the feta mixture the day before and store in the fridge, then prepare and assemble the other ingredients right before serving?
Yes, enjoy!
I made these for a baby shower last weekend, and they were a huge hit! They have such a bold burst of unique flavors, and they are absolutely delicious. I’m always looking for ways to sneak sun-dried tomatoes into recipes, so this was perfect. I’m hosting a 2nd baby shower tomorrow (call me crazy), and I’m making them again — but this time I’m using goat cheese in place of the feta. I just mixed it up, and it’s every bit as yummy as the feta. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
MAde this a day ahead – sooooo runny that I’m not sure I can even put it on the cucumber slices without it running off. Have put it into the fridge and am hoping it will solidly until tomorrow…HELP – what do I do. I cut the salt in half too as I thought it would be too salt with the feta. So glad I did. I may end up putting them into little tomatoes if it’s still so runny in the morning.
Sorry you had issues, I have never had it be runny. Maybe the brand of feta or cream cheese? Did you add too much olive oil? I hope chilling it saves it for you. If not, you could add more feta or cream cheese and blend again.
Very tasty appetizer!
I really wanted these to turn out perfect. But the mixture is extremely tangy. TO the point where my husband and I both puckered our faces when tasting. Followed the recipe exactly. Is it meant to be that tangy and then get offset by the cucumber? Or is there a fix I can use ? Hosting tonight and may have to scratch this one.
These turned out fantastic! I made them for two different Christmas parties and they were a hit! Definitely adding to my easy app tool belt.
Hi, can I use a hand mixer instead of a big mixer?
Yes!
