I still remember the first Valentine’s Day we celebrated together-we were dating and Josh made me a delicious Italian meal with chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Of course, he won bonus points for the cookies:)  I think cookies should be a part of every Valentine’s Day. There is no better way to show someone you love them than by baking them a batch of homemade cookies. I’ve shared a few festive Valentine cookie recipes already-Red Velvet Crinkles, Raspberry Hugs Chocolate Cookies, Red Velvet Cheesecake Cookies, and Lofthouse Style Soft Sugar Cookies. All of these cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day. I have one more Valentine’s Day cookie for you today-Cherry Vanilla White Chocolate Chip Cookies.

These cookies are inspired by my Vanilla Pudding Chocolate Chip Cookies. Vanilla pudding mix is the secret ingredient in these cookies. It keeps the cookies super soft and adds a nice vanilla flavor. I also added a double dose of vanilla extract to bring out the vanilla flavor. The tart dried cherries compliment the sweet white chocolate chips and add the perfect pop of red and white for Valentine’s Day.

I normally love cookies right out of the oven, you really can’t beat a freshly baked cookie, right? Well, I actually liked these cookies better the second and third day. The cookies stay super soft and the flavors really come out in the cookie. You can make these cookies over the weekend and they will still be in tip top shape to give to your Valentine on Tuesday.

Josh has made me cookies every Valentine’s Day since our first Valentine’s Day together. He is a smart man-he knows how to make me swoon:) Make a batch of Cherry Vanilla White Chocolate Chip Cookies to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. Your friends, family members, and special sweetheart will thank you!

  20. I made these tonight for my cookie loving boyfriend for our 1st Valentine’s Day together. He’s “more of a vanilla guy” than chocolate so I’m hoping these will be right up his alley. Of course I sampled them & they turned out awesome! They didn’t spread out or get too crunchy but they aren’t doughy either. I did bake end up baking them for 15 min instead of 10-13. Thanks for the recipe!

  22. Hello!

I stumbled across this post on Google – this recipe is absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait to read more.

    All the best, Alex.

  23. Do you use light or dark brown sugar for these? Also, what brand white chocolate chips do you like in these? Thanks!

    1. I use light brown sugar and Nestle white chocolate chips…any white chips will do, use your favorite! Enjoy!

  24. Love your blog and have made some of your cookies all with delicious results. These are yummy right out of the oven. Other cookies need time to meld flavors but not this one. Will have to make them again to keep them for the 2nd or 3rd day. They are so good now I will have to bake more to keep them longer to taste the fantastic results you mention. These are headed to my afternoon bridge group who will be very happy.

Question: Your recipe calls for one TABLESPOON of vanilla. Did you really mean one TABLESPOON? Have never used a TABLESPOON of vanilla in any other drop cookie recipe. Anyhow opted for the one teaspoon. And in this recipe you add the instant pudding to the wet ingredients rather than putting it with the flour mixture….I added it to the flour mixture as I have with other pudding recipes. Happy to say it worked with tasty results.

One more thing…your comments say SOUR cherries but your recipe does not specify. Used sour as you suggested. Wonderful.

    Virginia

  26. These sound very good. I’m not a big fan of white chocolate – wonder if using milk chocolate chips would be just as good? Pinning to try!!
