It is November and that means the holidays are right around the corner. I am all about keeping the holidays simple this year. I am sure we will host a few meals and have a few get togethers, but I am keeping things easy peasy…and that includes the food. Don’t worry though, simple food can be good food! There is no need to stress this holiday season and today I am here to help with a super simple holiday appetizer, Baked Brie with Apples and Salted Caramel.

Did reading the recipe title win you over? Oh, just wait until you taste it. It is even better than it sounds!

You only need six ingredients to make this amazing appetizer. Get out your shopping list and write down: brie, butter, apple, brown sugar, salted caramel sauce, and Stacy’s Salted Caramel Pita Chips. Yeah, that’s right, Stacy’s makes Salted Caramel Pita Chips. They are so good, like too good. The kind of good where you hide the pita chips in the back of the cabinet so your husband can’t find them…ha!

Oh, and you can totally cheat and buy salted caramel sauce from the store to make this recipe. If you want to splurge and make your own, I highly recommend our Salted Caramel Sauce recipe. It is easy and pretty much the best thing ever. If you make your own sauce, that will require a little extra work and it will no longer be a six ingredient recipe, but it’s worth it. But don’t worry, I won’t judge you if want to buy caramel sauce! We are keeping things simple this holiday season!

Now, let me tell you how easy this recipe is. All you have to do is put the wheel of brie in the oven so it can get all warm and oozy. While the brie is baking, sauté the apple in butter and add the brown sugar. Remove the brie from the oven and top the wheel with the sweet apples. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce and serve with Stacy’s Salted Caramel Pita Chips!

  8. This looks so delicious and utterly addictive, and SO easy to make. I’m going to have to tread carefully, but if I die from cheese overdose I blame you!

  9. Love love a good baked brie recipe and love stacy’s pita chips, must try these…holy yum!

  10. This looks amazing! Also THANK YOU for having a little photo on the recipe when it prints. Soooo many sites don’t do that and it is a huge pet peeve of mine. The visuals of a food are so important and I love having photos on the recipe.

  11. Do you have any tips on choosing brie? I heard if you buy it with an expiration within two weeks of when your going to use it it will be the most buttery tasting.

  12. I can’t wait to try to find that flavor of Stacy’s pita chips. Stacy’s is our favorite! And this brie is insane! This is a must make for the holidays.

  13. Looks delicious! When I’m at a party and there’s baked Brie I pretty much just sit down in front of it and eat until it’s all gone. I love the idea to add apple and salted caramel!

  14. Ok so I can not find the chips yet. I am going to hit Wal Mart that is the only other store left in the local area I can think of. Thanks for another yummy easy recipe!!

  15. I’ve bought all of the ingredients to make this for an appetizer on Thanksgiving, I can’t wait!

One thing I wanted to ask is… 8 inch wheel of brie? Do those exist? I bought two 8 oz wheels because I couldn’t find anything bigger than that.

  16. This looks out-of-this world! I have always been “afraid” of serving Brie because I don’t know whether or not to remove the rind. What do you recommend for this recipe? Also, we don’t always get specialty flavors of chips, crackers, etc., here in Alaska. Do you recommend the plain variety of Stacy’s Pita Chips with this if I can’t find the others? I kbow I can get those here at Costco. Maybe your sponsors would know if they supply the Anchorage area with the salted caramel pita chips. I thank you for any information you can send my way.

    1. I never remove the rind, but you can if it bugs you! Yes, you can use regular Stacy’s Pita Chips!

  17. I made this for Thanksgiving and it was AMAZING!!! Everyone loved it, even the people who said they didn’t like brie tried it and went back for more!

  18. I am making this tonight for the second time, to bring to a holiday gathering. I have not found the caramel chips here, so used the regular Stacy’s and that works just fine. It is sweet enough with the apple topping. I highly recommend!

  19. Does it matter what kind of apples you use? Do you thinknow Granny Smith apples will taste just as good, or use something else? Thanks!

  20. Any suggestions on what to serve it with besides salted caramel pita chips? I can’t find them anywhere and was hoping to serve this at a New Year’s eve party tonight! Help!

  21. Made this last night and it was amazing! I cheated due to time and found a ready made salted caramel sauce, but otherwise I followed the recipe and it was so easy. My friends loved it and there were many recipe requests! Thank you! I could not find the chips so I ended up using some fresh baked French baguettes and that worked out very well.

  22. 5 stars
Oh…em…gee! Made this on a whim for an at-home “date night” with the hubby. We doubled the apple/brown sugar/butter part of the recipe because we love apples, and we couldn’t find the correct pita chips, so we had cinnamon sugar Stacy’s instead. This is already a new family favorite! Thank you for sharing!
