4-Ingredient Ravioli Lasagna-you only need four ingredients to make this lasagna! It is perfect for busy weeknight dinners or easy entertaining!
Life is beyond busy right now. I feel like I am running around in circles and never get a minute to catch my breath. I am not complaining because I like being busy, especially with fun stuff like our house, the boys, the blog, etc. but I am tired. Some days I don’t know if I will make it, but then I get a smile from Maxwell or hug from Caleb and I keep going. Those boys keep me going, I just wish I had their energy:)
Dinner time is the hardest for me. I am usually exhausted and not in the mood to cook dinner because on most days I have already made a few recipes for the blog. Sometimes those recipes can be dinner, I love those days, but on baking days I have nothing to serve my family for dinner.
On days when I am tired and not in the mood to cook, I turn to one of our favorites, 4-Ingredient Ravioli Lasagna.
You heard me, you only need FOUR ingredients to make this lasagna. How is that possible? Let me tell you my little secret. I layer frozen ravioli with marinara sauce and cheese and it tastes just like homemade lasagna!
I like to use spinach cheese ravioli, but feel free to use your favorite ravioli. And even better news? You don’t even have to boil the ravioli. Just put the little raviolis in the pan with marinara sauce and cheese and bake! So easy!
If I have some of my homemade marinara sauce in the freezer, I use it, if not I use DeLallo’s jarred marinara sauce. Both are great options for this recipe!
This quick and easy ravioli lasagna is great for busy weeknights or easy entertaining. Everyone loves it and will think you slaved over making lasagna all day! If you have time, serve garlic bread on the side. The bread is perfect for soaking up the extra sauce!

4-Ingredient Ravioli Lasagna
Ingredients
- 2 25-ounce jars marinara pasta sauce
- 2 30-ounce packages frozen cheese ravioli (I like to use spinach cheese ravioli)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil leaves optional garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray.
- Spread half of a jar of marinara sauce evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Add 1 package of ravioli in an even layer over the sauce. Top with the rest of the half jar of marinara sauce. Sprinkle ¾ cup of mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese over the sauce. Add another layer of sauce, ravioli, sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Spray a piece of aluminum foil with cooking spray. Cover the dish with aluminum foil, sprayed side down. Bake the lasagna for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly. Remove pan from oven let sit for 5 minutes. Garnish with basil, if desired. Serve warm.
- Note-You don't have to thaw or cook the ravioli first, just put it in the pan frozen. We like to serve garlic bread on the side!

FYI: thawing is the process of unfreezing. Would “unthawing” be to refreeze? The correct word would be “thawed”.

Yes, frozen ravioli. You don’t have to thaw or cook it before adding it to the pan. It will cook in the oven.

Yes, you can bake it and keep it in the fridge or freeze it. It will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days and freeze for up to 1-2 months.

So easy and way good!!! I found frozen ravioli 18-22 oz. and so I used 2 smaller bags of ravioli than the recipe called for. It worked fine!

SO…your Ravioli Lasagna will be served on the night they come to dinner! A baguette of garlicy french bread will accompany it with Vanilla ice cream for dessert. I make this in batches for me and hubby, and freeze. He loves it…I top it off with chunks of mozzerella cheese. I use the little aluminum pans w/lids, and bake and the last 10minutes take lid off…..yummy
I made this for a family of 5 who visited my home – we all loved it, and enough leftovers to eat again and again 🙂 I loved that it was so easy to make and used so few ingredients. Since the kids love meat, I added ground turkey (also added 2 cloves of chopped garlic when cooking the meat) to the marinara sauce. I don’t know if it was because of the meat but I did need 2.5 jars of marinara sauce. I would probably also add more mozzarella cheese between the layers. It was a hit, and I’d definitely make it again — very family-friendly.

I make this often. One in the oven now. I added a variety of veggies (cauliflower rice, asparagus tips, cut-up mini carrots) that would have been discarded at the end of our rental period.
Do you think you could prepare this, freeze it, and then thaw/bake later? We spend thanksgiving weekend preparing meals for the insane months ahead, adn this one looks so easy to prep 1 or 2 that day.

Easy to make. Family loves it. I love this recipe because it can be made quickly with ingredients I usually have on hand and popped in oven when unexpected guests arrive. Add a salad and dessert and all is well! (and I am not spending all of my time in the kitchen).
What kind of frozen ravioli? I’ve only seen fresh, in the fresh pasta section.

Hi Maria- Do you cook it for the same amount of time if using fresh ravioli?
It might be done a few minutes early but you want to bake until the cheese is melted and it’s bubbling around the edges.
The second step is confusing. Is it a 1/2 bag or whole bag. If that is the case, u would need 2 bags and then extra cheeses for the second layer???
Yep the recipe says 2 bags of ravioli- so 1 bag for the first layer and 1 bag for the second ☺️ Have this in the oven now!

You don’t need to defrost. They will cook in the oven!
During a pandemic, and you just can’t think of another meal for 3 grown men, this was perfect.
Added Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella, ricotta and Parmesan cheese.
Used a chicken cheese stuffed ravioli and a spinach cheese.
It was the best!

I am told using frozen ravioli can cause the sauce to be watery. If I boil them first, can you tell me how long to bake in oven once assembled?
I use frozen ravioli and it doesn’t make it watery. If you want to boil them, you can. Drain well and bake just until the cheese is melted, but I am worried the ravioli will get over cooked if it is cooked first. Let me know if you try it!

Great recipe! Very east. Sometimes I cook ground turkey with a bit of onion and gwrlic and Italian seasonings and add it to this recipe.

I cook my (fresh) ravioli in a frying pan with a little olive oil — it’s delicious and no need to wait on a pot of boiling water (not for this recipe, just in general).

Wonderful invention! I got excited and added to your recipe, so it’s more than 4 ingredients. I started with 1/2 a jar jarred traditional meat sauce, 1 bag prosciutto and cheese tortellini (Accidentally grabbed it instead of ravioli. Worked fine.), cheese (forgot to buy mozzarella, used the Mexican 3 cheese mix), 1 jar Alfredo sauce, 1 bag frozen mushrooms, cheese, 1 jar Alfredo sauce, 1 bag mushroom ravioli, cheese, cover top with traditional meat sauce (had to open another jar, cheese, parmesan (i forgot to add it on the layers so I the it all on top).
Came out delicious. I will be making this again!

So confused how no one commented about this being too much ravioli to fit. First of all I couldn’t find 30 oz packages fresh or frozen so I got a 20 oz and 10 oz (x2) of fresh. The two 20 oz packages filled the 9×13 pan over the top. And I couldn’t fit rest in. Did anyone else have that problem??

I only use half recipe and it’s plenty for us 3. Very quick and easy to make plus tasty. Could add garlic or Italian seasoning if want more flavor – I added some chopped spinach.
I suggest you make the entire recipe, but divide it into two 8×8 foils tins. Freeze one for later.
Do I need to thaw out the ravioli?

Your recipe is genius! I just made it and OMG delish! I also just shared your recipe with all my friends and they are excited to try it! I made a small portion to try it out. I used 1 10oz bag of fresh Spinach & Ricotta ravioli and 1 entire 25oz jar of Marinara. I added a few spices to the sauce for my taste and I just eyeballed the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. Beyond easy! I think 60oz of ravioli, as stated in your recipe, seems like far too much. I think 30oz of ravioli would be plenty for a 9×13 dish. Thanks for the great recipe idea! It’s a game changer and you are a genius.

Made this for a Sunday dinner and my family LOVED it!! There were no leftovers. The only changes were I used refrigerated ravioli (was all I had) and added some herbs to boost the sauce. My family loves lasagna, but it is so time consuming to make. Came across this recipe and glad I did!!! This will be in regular rotation. It was wonderful, thank you!!!

Freezes beautifully! I make the full recipe, but split it into 2 8×8 foil tins for freezing. I’ve never tried half a recipe, but I suggest, perhaps, splitting the recipe into to foil loaf pans. Maybe that would work.

This recipe was so Delish & so Easy ! I used Jumbo Cheese Ravioli and topped it with a Homemade Meat Sauce to make more of a Meal 🙂

Crushed tomatoes on their own might be a little bland. I would add some seasonings!

A winner. Tastes good (erm, better than my scratch lasagna) and the recipe easily adjusts for smaller servings (like for two older folks). Great in my cherished Corningware.
