For the salad: 6 cups fresh broccoli florets, chopped (about 1 lb broccoli stalks) 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese, white or yellow 6 strips cooked bacon, chopped 1/2 cup dried cranberries, or golden raisins 1/2 cup slivered almonds, can use sunflower seeds, chopped pecans, or pepitas 1/3 cup diced red onion For the dressing: 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, can use sour cream 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 tablespoons honey or pure maple syrup 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard 1 clove garlic, minced Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
In a large bowl combine broccoli florets, cheese, bacon, dried cranberries, almonds, and onion.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Pour dressing over broccoli salad and stir until well combined. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
