A Creamy & Fresh Herb-Infused Dressing

Green is my favorite color. I love all things green, even this Green Goddess Dressing. Yes, I love the color, but it is delicious too!

At the heart of Green Goddess dressing are fresh herbs that give the dressing its signature vibrant green color and fragrant, fresh taste. The dressing is also creamy, tangy, and has a little zing thanks to the fresh lemon juice and vinegar.

It’s a timeless classic that offers a burst of flavor and color to just about anything you serve it with. I always love having a jar in the fridge, especially during the spring and summer months when I am craving bright and fresh dishes.

Traditional Green Goddess dressing is usually made with mayo and sometimes sour cream, but I swap them out for plain Greek yogurt. This gives the dressing a boost of protein and adds a delightful tangy flavor.

This dressing is the perfect way to use up extra herbs, and you can customize it with almost any variety you prefer. I like to use with parsley, basil, and chives, but you can add whatever other herbs you have on hand. Cilantro, mint, tarragon, and dill are all good options. Feel free to play around until you get the perfect herb blend for you!

You can tweak the recipe by adding extras like capers, anchovies (or anchovy paste), or even a touch of Dijon mustard to make it your own.

How to Make Green Goddess Dressing

I love how easy this dressing is to make and it’s SO much better than store bought. Making homemade dressings is the way to go!

In a food processor, combine the Greek yogurt, fresh herbs, lemon juice, vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth.

I always taste the dressing after to blending to make sure it is good to go. You can add a little more salt, pepper, or lemon juice, if necessary. Adjust to your liking!

This dressing is so versatile! You can use it as a dressing for a salad, drizzle it over grilled vegetables or roasted vegetables, or use it as a dip for fresh veggies, sweet potato fries, or pita bread. It also pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken, fish, steak, or lamb. I even like to drizzle it on sandwiches or pizza.

Grab your herbs, whip up a batch, and bring a little green goodness into your life!

Notes

I like to use plain Greek yogurt for extra protein, but sour cream or mayo will work too.
You can use a mix of whatever herbs you like. Cilantro, dill, tarragon, and mint are all good options.
You can add anchovies, anchovy paste, or capers for a umami flavor.
I prefer using a food processor for this recipe. You can use a blender, but you might have to stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula a few times to make sure all of the herbs get well blended.
