Avocado-Feta-Dip-3

Our Creamy Avocado Yogurt Dip is one of my all-time favorite dips. I love the stuff. I wanted to make that dip last week for an afternoon snack, but Caleb hogged all of our Greek yogurt. I was in the mood for dipping and had avocados to use up, so I looked in our fridge and saw feta cheese. Bingo! A new favorite dip was born!

Avocado-Feta-Dip-6

This dip is thick, creamy, and flavorful. The feta cheese adds the perfect amount of saltiness and blends in with the avocado perfectly! They are a match made in heaven.

I served the Avocado Feta Dip with pita chips and cut up veggies. Josh, Caleb, and I spent the afternoon snacking away! This dip was a hit with the entire family.

If you are looking for an easy dip recipe for parties or every day snacking, make this Avocado Feta Dip! Oh, and the lime juice keeps the dip from turning brown, so you can make it in advance-which makes it perfect for entertaining. I put our leftover dip in the fridge and it was bright green the next day!

And speaking of green, don’t forget to get festive on St. Patrick’s Day by eating this tasty green Avocado Feta Dip! The leprechauns might try to snatch it from you, so be careful:)

  1. Hey, I’ve got ripe avocados and used up the last of the yogurt on tartar sauce last night! But I have feta–so I can make this.

One problem–the pigs ate up all the cilantro.

    Off to the store.

    Thanks!

  2. I have a ton of feta to use up right now and a whole lot if Downton Abbey to watch! Perfect!

  3. Ahahaha! I was wondering about what kind of festive dip someone could make for SPD… well, you’ve nailed it!

  4. This sounds fantastic, Maria! The addition of feta would be a great layer of flavor with avocado.

  5. You had me until I saw “cilantro.” Can’t stand the stuff; when I try to eat it, it’s like I am eating dish soap (you know, the stuff you keep at the sink when you want to hand wash a dish instead of putting it in the dishwasher). Any suggestions as to what to put in its place because I really want to give this a go.

  6. So divine! I would think you wouldn’t need to add much salt here with the addition of feta. Cant wait to try it.

  7. Love this recipes, Maria. And the fact it only takes 5 minutes – perfect for last-minute entertaining!

  8. oh my, this could be dangerous! so fast and quick to make and i’m sure it’s every bit as addicting as it looks it could be!! lovely colors ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. I’m so excited to make this – the only problem is that it’s always a nightmare to get ripe avocado here!

  10. I can just imagine the saltiness of the feta mixed with creamy avocado! I bet this dip is spectacular!

    1. I didnโ€™t have all of the ingredients! I went with
      1 avocado
      4 ounces feta
      1/4 onion
      1 garlic clove
      1/3 cup sour cream
DELISH!! Perfectly paired with Staceyโ€™s garlic Parmesan pita chips

  11. Where did you get your tortilla chips? They much better than the regular kind you find at the grocery store!

  12. I made this last night. I kind of have mixed feelings. It’s similar to guac that I make, plus feta. I think my mouth was a little confused about it. It was tasty, but just a little strange when you’re thinking it looks like guac but isn’t. Regardless, everyone else thought it was really tasty and their mouths weren’t confused. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I made this the other day, with substitutions based on what I had in the fridge, and it’s YUMMY! Got me going on a whole Greek theme with chicken, and made enough to use it both at dinner and again in a 5 layer Greek dip.
    Divine–thanks!

  14. This dip was crazy delicious! I also added a 6 oz container of greek yogurt which made it even creamier (and made me feel like I could eat more). Who know avacado and feta fit so perfectly together? Thanks for the recipe! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. I made a similar avocado dip last summer that included a pear as a main ingredient. I really like this idea to make it a bit more savory with onion and feta. Looking forward to trying it out!

  16. Wow…this is my new favorite dip! Made it as a side dish/game appetizer with chicken and tzatziki sauce and it was awesome. Just wish I could have found some pita chips.

  17. How creative! I constantly create new dishes but rarely write them down. So thank you for putting this one together and writing it down to share with everyone. I will be making it soon! Sounds delicious!!

  18. I made this dip for Super Bowl and WOW is all I can say. It was supposed to be an alternative for guacamole for my daughter and I, but my husband (who HATES avocado anything) fell in love with it. He took it to work the next day, and I haven’t seen it since *feeling a little annoyed* so I will have to make a second batch so my daughter and I can have some more.

    GREAT, easy recipe and YUMMY!

  19. Made this tonight, but omitted the onions. WOW, this was good. I did not add any salt or pepper, as I thought with the Feta cheese, it was salty enough. Some crushed red pepper might be a nice addition, but it is great as it is! Thank you for sharing!

  20. I’m commenting on the this dip because I actually made it for our Easter gathering…it is ABSOLUTELY stellar!!!! Served it with pita chips and it is one of the BEST dip recipes I have ever come across!!! Would be great as a topping for any kind of taco, fish, salad , etc. Soooo good!!!

  21. This stuff was ADDICTING! I left out the cilantro because I’m not a big cilantro fan and it turned out amazing. If you are planning on making it for more than 1-2 people, I’d at least double the batch because it’s so good!

  22. Impressive information you have here. Keep up the good work on sharing your ideas to others

  23. I love all of your recipes I have tried. Haven’t ever been much of a feta person but this combo was really good! I made mine w/o the Cilantro and it was great!

  24. Well, what do you know?… Going to a 4th of July get together and I was unsure about what to bring now I know. Thank you for your recipe.
    Michele

  25. Would this be ok with lemon juice instead of lime? Or should I just omit the juice altogether if I don’t have lime?

  26. This is now my go-to replacement for guacamole – has been for the last year or two. Everyone loves it and I’m constantly asked for the recipe. This is so yummy. Thanks for sharing it.

I used tomato / basil feta and real bacon bits sprinkled on top and spooned into spinach leafs, rolled and eat. Oh, also added sour cream to make it blend better in my little chopper. I loved this recipe and it can be very versatile with choice of add-ins.

This is my favorite go-to party dip and I realized I never wrote a review! It really is simple and turns out delicious every time. I do substitute the jalapeno for pickled green chilies that adds a layer of subtle heat that takes it to another level.

If I could give this more than 5โญ๏ธ I would!!! Our favorite Mediterranean restaurant makes this dip and I was so excited to find this recipe!!! Bravo!!!!!
