Key Ingredients

You’ll find the full list of ingredients in the recipe card below, but here are some ingredient notes before you get started.

  • Oat flour: Make sure you use gluten-free oats if you need the cookies to be gluten-free. Oat flour is EASY to make at home, just put oats in the blender and blend. It’s that simple!
  • Mashed Bananas: The bananas add moisture and a subtle sweetness without refined sugar. Use dark brown bananas for the best flavor!
  • Nut Butter: I use creamy natural peanut butter, but almond butter will also work. Make sure you stir well before using.
  • Chocolate Protein Powder: A scoop of protein powder gives the cookies a boost of protein. I use Clean Simple Eats protein powder (use code TWOPEAS for a discount), but you can use your favorite brand.
  • Chia Seeds: Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and protein, chia seeds add a nutritional boost! Store them in the freezer so they don’t go rancid.
  • Chocolate Chips: I like to use dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate chips. You can use Hu chocolate chips that only have 3 ingredients and are sweetened with coconut sugar. They are delicious too!

  • Let sit. Allow the cookie dough to sit for 10 minutes so the oats can soak up some of the moisture. It will thicken up a bit.
  • Scoop the dough. Scoop the dough onto prepared baking sheet, about 2 tablespoons per cookie. You can use a cookie scoop or spoon. The dough will be moist.

  • Storing on the Counter: Let the cookies cool completely before storing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
