Pin ItBaked oatmeal is one of my all-time favorite breakfasts. I have several favorite recipes; classic baked oatmeal, blueberry, apple cinnamon, carrot cake, peanut butter banana, and more!
When peaches are in season, I love making this Brown Butter Peach Baked Oatmeal. Peaches and cream oatmeal is a classic flavor, who remembers the peaches and cream oatmeal packets? The flavors are nostalgic, but I promise you my peach baked oatmeal is MUCH better.
You get all of the classic comforting flavors with the sweet peaches and creamy oatmeal, but the brown butter makes the oatmeal even BETTER! Brown butter adds a depth of flavor that elevates the dish. It’s rich, nutty, and adds a slightly toasted flavor.
Plus, the oatmeal also has cinnamon, brown sugar, maple, and a little vanilla. All of the flavors come together to create the most amazing oatmeal.
I love baked oatmeal because it is a fantastic way to enjoy a hearty, make-ahead breakfast. It’s easy to prepare and you can reheat it all week!
You can also enjoy the baked oatmeal for brunch, a snack, or even dessert. Drizzle the warm oatmeal with heavy cream or top with whipped cream for an extra-special treat! Peaches and cream HEAVEN!
Table of Contents
Ingredients
- Butter– use unsalted butter.
- Oats– use old fashioned oats. If you need the recipe to be gluten-free, make sure you use gluten-free oats.
- Brown sugar
- Baking powder
- Cinnamon– cinnamon and peaches are a match made in heaven!
- Salt
- Milk– use your favorite milk. If you want the oatmeal to be super rich, you can use 1 cup of milk and ½ cup heavy cream.
- Eggs
- Maple syrup– make sure you use pure maple syrup.
- Vanilla Extract
- Peaches– use ripe and juicy peaches. I don’t peel the peaches, but you can. I use chopped peaches IN the baked oatmeal and peach slices on top!
- Turbinado sugar– for sprinkling on top! Don’t skip the sugary crunch!
How to Make Peach Baked Oatmeal
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
- Place the butter, in tablespoon pieces, in a medium saucepan and melt over medium heat, stirring often, until it foams, smells nutty, and browns. This will take about 5 to 7 minutes. Scrape the browned butter into a small bowl. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
- Pour the milk over the oat mixture. Add the browned butter, eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
- Fold in 1 cup of chopped peaches.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Top with sliced peaches and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the oats are set and lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve with whipped cream or desired toppings.
Topping Ideas
- Whipped cream or pour fresh heavy cream over the top for the ultimate peaches and cream experience.
- Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt for extra protein.
- Add a drizzle of almond butter!
- For extra sweetness, finish with pure maple syrup or a sprinkle of brown sugar.
- For a crunch, top with your favorite granola or nuts. Sliced almonds, chopped pecans, walnuts, or candied pecans are all good options.
- If you are feeling extra fruity, top with fresh berries.
- Garnish with fresh mint.
How to Store
- Keep the baked oatmeal covered tightly in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds and enjoy!
- You can freeze baked oatmeal, but I think this peach baked oatmeal is best fresh because the peaches get a little mushy after freezing and thawing. If you are going to freeze, don’t add the fresh peach slices on top.

I just made this recipe this morning. Oh my goodness! It is a keeper. I didn’t have fresh peaches, I only had canned peaches, and it was still DELICIOUS. I’ve made baked oatmeal before and my husband has never been impressed, but he asked me to make sure I make the Browned Butter Peach Baked Oatmeal again. The browned butter gives a wonderfully nutty, rich flavor that compliments the peaches perfectly. I will definitely make this again and again.
I am thrilled you loved it. I am glad it worked with canned peaches too!
I made this tonight with fresh peaches! (I did switch the whole milk for a combination of almond and oat milks.) I love that it isn’t too sweet. I also love the convenience of being able to heat individual slices for breakfast on the go! A really yummy and healthy recipe!
It really is so good! Great for meal prep too!
Hi. I want to make this but need clarification:
The recipe card ingredients list states 1 1/2 cups chopped peaches and sliced peaches for topping. However, step 4 in the instructions states to fold in 1 cup of chopped peaches. No mention of the other 1/2 cup of chopped peaches.
Fixed! Thanks for letting me know!
Oh my word! This is a winner!! Itโs absolutely delicious and my kiddos scarfed it down.
I am so glad your kids loved it.
We made this for breakfast today with fresh peaches. Delicious! I was unsure whether to put in 1 cup or 1 1/2 cups of chopped peaches because the recipe states both.
Nevermind. I see now that it was fixed! I just hadn’t refreshed the page.
Can this recipe be doubled; if so, how?
Yes, you can double and make in a 9×13 inch pan.
So yummy! Had peaches that werenโt going to make it another day and this was a perfect to use them up
Yay!
