Cook onion and celery in olive oil. Add garlic and cook.

Add bay leaves, thyme, rosemary, vegetable broth, peas, and ham hocks. Stir and season with salt and pepper. Simmer.

Remove ham hocks and stir in carrots and cooked ham, if using. Cook. Serve.
