About
Welcome to Two Peas and Their Pod.
I’m Maria and my husband is Josh. We got married in June of 2008 and soon became known as the “cooking couple.” We both enjoy cooking, baking, and sharing our recipes. We are a great team, especially in the kitchen. We always have a good time, sometimes we may make a mess, but that is all part of the fun!
When we are not in the kitchen, we enjoy watching sports (my favorite is basketball, Josh prefers football), hiking, running, traveling, reading, watching movies, and of course eating. We live in Salt Lake City, Utah and love it. We are blessed to live in such a gorgeous place.
Join us in our culinary adventures-our kitchen is always open!

Dear Maria,
I’m so impressed with you! I’ve been reading your blog for several months, have tried several recipes and have told many people about your blog – especially my gourmet group. (We’ve been eating good food together for over 38 years now!) Keep up the good work! Maybe when we visit Steve and Kate in SLC we will be able to have the opportunity to spend some time with you. I understand you don’t live too far away from each other.
Love,
Rochelle Mooth
Thanks so much. I am glad you enjoy the blog.
I just found your blog and it sounds awesome… where are you from in central Illinois?? I live in Central Illinois!!
Lindsay-I grew up in the Decatur area. In the country. Where do you live?
Hello!
I just found out about your blog through your guest post at Carrots n’ Cake. I just recently moved to SLC from Cincinnati, Ohio. Are ya’ll in SLC? If so, maybe we could chat sometime. I’d love to meet a fellow blogger and get to know some folks living here. I have a blog at http://www.chewingscenery.wordpress.com .
Thanks. Be well. Dig the blog.

Yes, we are in Salt Lake City. It would be fun to meet up sometime. Thanks for stopping by!
I also found your blog thanks to CNC! Your pictures are great and the “Oven Berry Pancakes” are now high on my “to make” list!
Let me know if you try the berry pancakes!
Hi Maria & Josh,
I thank you so much for the Yogurt article and advice of making your own.
I purchased the yogurt machine and wow! so good and saves money, too.
I also use my yogurt in baking coffee cakes, using the yogurt instead of sour cream. Thanks, Cheri
Hi Maria & Josh — I just found you guys from TasteSpotting and your blog is great! I’m a recent SLC transplant and fellow blogger and love finding local blogs! Keep it up.
Cheri-I am so glad you are making your own yogurt. It is tons cheaper and tasty too:)
Laura-Welcome to Utah. We should get together sometime!
Good selection of name for your site, its as beautiful as you two look in the picture.
Hope to come often to see more of your site.
I found you through The Pioneer Woman. Nice site!
Hey there. I found your blog via Pioneer Woman and love what you’ve got going here! I read through some earlier posts (and this ‘about’ section) only to discover that our lives are way too similar! My husband and I got engaged in San Francisco the same weekend that you did (I was there for work, he flew out and surprised me)… he went to the U, I went to BYU and we live in SLC now. Anyway, I had to share.
Thanks for the great blog!
Sarah-That is too funny! We should meet up sometime:)
I see you are vegetarian? I am from Mexico, just moved here to the States last year, and we have so many delicious vegetarian dishes back there, I had a blog long ago and when I was checking it today and hit the “see more blogs” button I found yours, and just loved it, I would like to share one of my favorite recipe drinks that maybe you will like, I have to say that its worth the process and its sooooo healthy! I highly recommend it!

Hi Maria, I noticed you like to make smoothies. If you are looking for a good protien powder to add to them Whey Protein would be the best. My husband David and I are always making protein shakes everyday with Designs for Health Whey Cool Protein. It’s the best and made from grass fed cows. You can find it at:

Hi Maria,

Looking forward to more of your recipes.

Can you please put a “search” button on your website? I’m looking for your Marinara sauce recipe..and I cannot find it.
I am making your zuchinni fries right now! My neighbor does these and cooks them then FREEZES them and her hubby and kids LOVE them! And I wanted to make the marinara sauce, but have not found it yet!
Can you put a search button, please?
Linda
We have a search button on the right hand side of our blog. In the sidebar, about half way down. I hope this helps! Thanks!
