Oreo Brownies with White Chocolate

by twopeas on February 8, 2010

First of all, thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes. I really am grateful to have so many fabulous friends and family members, near and far. I had a perfect day. Josh gave me flowers, a hydrangea plant (they are my favorite), and a card. He also did all of the chores and took me to Takashi for a fantastic sushi dinner. I also received flowers from my dad and cards and gifts from loved ones. We celebrated all weekend long too- I dragged the guys to see Dear John. It was my birthday so I got to pick:) We also had friends over for a Super Bowl party. It was a great weekend!

Now that my birthday is over we can focus on the next holiday-Valentine’s Day. Last year I kidnapped Josh and we went to a cabin for the weekend. This year we are keeping it simple and staying home, but I am sure it will still be a great day. Do any of you have special plans?

On Fridays, I teach cooking classes to two kids in our neighborhood. They are pretty knowledgeable-so my job is easy:) I think it is fantastic that they want to learn how to cook at such a young age-they are in the 3rd and 4th grade. Since we don’t have any kiddos yet, I am glad [...]

I love planning and organizing. I like to know what is going on months in advance. I am really not the spontaneous type. If it is not in the “plan” I tend to freak out.  I think this drives Josh nuts sometimes, but he still loves me:)
Planning is key when it comes to healthy eating. [...]

Josh was out of town last week on business. I was lonely-this was the longest we have been apart since we started dating. I tried to keep busy with work, the gym, the blog, etc. but I just missed my hubs. Luckily, one of my best buds came to the rescue. She always knows how [...]

If you read my last post about healthy breakfast ideas, you know I am a huge fan of breakfast foods. Unfortunately, I work during the weeks and don’t have a ton of time to make glamorous morning meals. I love my bowl of oatmeal, but when I have extra time I try to spice things [...]

Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. I never skip breakfast-I love breakfast foods and I need the energy to start my day off right.
When you wake up in the morning, you haven’t eaten for approximately 6 to 12 hours: it’s time to “break the fast.” Research has shown that breakfast helps [...]
